This half-Japanese girl is off to Nagoya, Japan for a year (or two!) to teach English, backpack around Asia and learn Japanese (or at least more than 'goodnight' and 'stapler'). Tune in for pictures, stories and of course, engrish!

It so true! I DO NOT press the mangoes!
I guess that given how expensive the produce is in Japan, you probably don't have to worry about getting stuff that isn't ripe/good quality. If only the same could be said about North America! Then again, paying over $3 for a bunch of asparagus almost sends me into cardiac arrest. Surely there must be a compromise! Europe, perhaps?
Aaron, everything here is wrapped. And practically all fruit comes in a styrofoam nest. I mean, hell, if you're going to pay 40 bucks for a mango it better be perfect and able to make it home.
Mateo and I were wondering about the fruit though....what if you shell out 210 bucks for a square watermelon, take it home, cut it open and it's not sweet?? Can you return the two rectangluar prism like halves?
